Make a delicious homemade teriyaki glaze to use on chicken, pork, or shrimp! Thick and flavorful, it can easily be made in about 10 minutes!
Place low sodium soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, finely grated fresh ginger and apple cider vinegar in a medium saucepan.
Whisk together on Medium-High heat, continuing to whisk as it cooks. Heat sauce until heated through, honey melts and ingredients are combined.
Combine water and cornstarch in a measuring cup; whisk or stir until cornstarch is dissolved and blended into the water. Add cornstarch mixture to the sauce, whisking as you add it, to prevent lumps. Turn heat down to Medium; continue to cook sauce for 6-7 minutes. Whisk or stir sauce frequently as it continues cooking,
Once glaze has thickened (between 6-7 minutes of cooking), remove pan from the heat. Glaze should be a dark brown color, be fairly thick (NOT watery or runny, but about the thickness of pancake syrup).
Use homemade teriyaki glaze on chicken, steak shrimp, pork or veggies. Enjoy!
NOTE: The caloric calculation was made based on 4 total servings of the sauce. This amount may vary, depending on what you use the sauce for, and how many servings it is used for.
